partner meeting of the EFRO project

01 Dec 2017

On Friday, December 1, Mark Wokke, Rogier Nijssen and Denzel Vonk represented Inholland Composites in a partner meeting of the EFRO project ‘valorisation high-tech sector composites North-Holland’. In this meeting, a route-map was presented by Ruth and Yvette of Duneworks.
The routemap was based on bilateral meetings with all the partners and shows where we want to be in 10 years from now as a strong composites industry in the Netherlands – and how to get there with our composites cluster. Several topics were discussed, such as the role of the industry association CompositesNL, the role of automation, and the importance of preparing today’ s students for tomorrow’s composites industry through adequate training and applied research.

A fun intermezzo was programmed where all partners, in the spirit of Sinterklaas and Christmas, had prepared a ‘knowledge present’ for another partner. Mocs and CPT offered to share their knowledge and educational expertise with us. Incidentally, these presents were accompanied by a high-toughness chocolate-nougat composite. “Tough” was also the keyword for the receivers of a joint present by Inholland Composites and WMC….Schaap and NPSP first had to collaborate their way through a 3D printed maze, before a Sinterklaasgedicht revealed their knowledge present. We hope to welcome Schaap and NPSP soon for a workshop on automated repair of composites, which will be followed by a mechanical testing workshop at WMC.

Before drinks and networking, Sotiris Koussios of Delft University of Technology presented the crowd with his original ideas for innovations that could be beneficial for several partners.
