High efficiency vehicle Apollo

Driving 650 km on one litre of fuel: that is what the Aeronautical Engineering students from the Innovation Studio achieved recently during the European edition of the Shell Eco-marathon. The Shell Eco-marathon Europe 2017 will take place 25–28 May 2017 in London, UK. Visit this page regularly to witness the progress of the build at Inholland Composites.

The monocoque structure has an empty weight of 7.2 kg and has a core of natural cork. This sandwich creates a stiff structure allowing for natural damping.

Apollo was built by the Inholland Innovation Studio at Inholland Composites, which facilitates technical, innovative and sustainable projects within a creative and social environment for students. The complete build of the car by students is shown in the video.
